Welcome to the EGB Cotswold Group Website

The Cotswold group is part of Endurance GB – the national body for competitive long distance riding. The group focuses its activities throughout Oxfordshire, Gloucestershire and Buckinghamshire, organising both pleasure and more competitive longer distance rides, as well as a programme of training and social events to encourage local people to try - and to progress in - the sport, and - not least - to get to know each other and develop friendship and support.

Endurance riding

Endurance - or long distance - riding is a friendly sport which can be enjoyed at any level, from non competitive pleasure rides of 10 miles or so, up to competitive rides of 100 miles in a day. Any horse or pony that is fit, healthy and sound can successfully take part in shorter rides without specialist training or equipment – why not come and give it a go?. Take a look at the Getting started section of this website for general tips, and when you are ready, enter one of the Cotswold Group’s pleasure or training rides. Do please look at our Associate Membership Scheme too.

Building our community

If you already a member of EGB, and live in our area, why not learn more about us, and perhaps also become a Cotswold newsletter subscriber (form available here). We issue a newsletter four times a year, as well as organise social and other events for education - and for fun! You might also want to join our member’s forum to exchange news and information and to get to know like-minded people in the area to train and ride with, or perhaps to act as your crew (or vice versa).
